System Engineer

What do we offer..

The Vacant Position as “System Engineer Analyst” is a part of the Global IS User Experience Center. This department have the following responsibilities:

 

  • End user technology selection, architecture and configuration
  • End user Hardware Management
  • Software Change Management
  • End user security (Antivirus, policies, encryption etc)
  • OS Management
  • Software distribution
  • Microsoft SCCM development (client side)
  • Remote Desktop Services development

 

Thus securing an international standard PC set-up for all administrative in the Grundfos Group which has been implemented worldwide. Delivering a standard for all production IT is under development and will be part of the department’s responsibility as well.

Key Activities

The System Engineer Analyst is responsible for the the following activities:

 

  • 2nd and 3rd level incident and problem handling
  • Dispatching client related incidents
  • Handle events and incidents in relation to Antivirus, Encryption and Client Hardening systems

 

The main tasks are defined as:

 

  • Assisting System Engineer Specialists and Consultants in system administrative tasks and technical troubleshooting
  • Assisting in finding root cause for incidents and problems on the client platform (operating systems, applications etc.)
  • Maintenance and follow up on events from e.g. antivirus, failed encryption, client monitoring, failed installations etc.
  • Assisting in development of new systems and tools for continuous client platform improvements
  • Assisting in maturing devices and updating/troubleshooting drivers
  • Proactive work related to fewer End User breakdowns, hence increasing User Experience
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • You have 2-5 years of experience from similar work experience obtained in a larget IT enterprise environment
  • You have experience preferably in the following technical knowledge:
    • General
      • Knowledge in client operating systems (Windows)
      • Knowledge in troubleshooting client issues and incidents
      • Knowledge on how to read and understand log files
      • Commandline operations / basic scripting
      • Able to read and understand messages in event viewer.
      • Familiar with registry editor and impact of modifications
      • Basic knowledge of network concept.
      • Understanding client security and setup
    • Operating Systems - Windows 7, 8.1 & 10 used in domain environment
    • Deployment system (Microsoft SCCM)
    • Understanding Microsoft SCCM or in general application distribution / deployment tools in regards to packages, collection and advertisements
    • Cloud services like O365 and OneDrive for Business
    • Software
      • Know how to install software and problems related to installation of software in a managed domain environment compare to private home office.
      • Be able to use and explain the common facets of Windows System. What the various menu options do, the normal content of System folder, how to remove start-up items and in general knowing what software normally modifies when install.
    • Harware
      • Know how to install and configure common peripherals (general hardware settings, local printers, graphical devices etc.).
      • Knowledge of hardware drivers functionality and impact on operating systems
    • Active Directory
      • Knowledge on how users, groups and computers are managed
