Group Purchase organisation
The main part of the Group Purchase organisation is based on cluster management, which corresponds with our sourcing structure covering direct materials. In addition to this other functions covering Indirect Purchasing, Business Intelligence and Process Management complete the organisational structure.
To ensure close co-operation and global alignment within Purchase, local Purchase Managers in production companies refer to Group Purchase as well as to local Company Management.
Within Purchase the supplier responsibility is split between group suppliers and local suppliers. Group suppliers are defined as suppliers, which delivers to more than one production facility, whereas local suppliers are defined as suppliers, which delivers to one facility only. Group Purchase is responsible for all Group suppliers and correspondingly local Purchase departments in sister companies are responsible for all local suppliers.
